4 favourite Piemontese starters and pasta classic of the region, to accompany a sneak peak of the upcoming 2013 vintage

Thursday 18th May | 6.30pm onwards | $75 per person

Join us for a dinner of Piemontese classics by our chef Salvatore as Chris and Barolo-maestro David Ridge  guide you through a fascinating snapshot of the areas wines.

Two themes will no doubt be covered on the night; a look at the various styles and varieties of the area – the whites, Arneis and Cortese (DOC Gavi) eg, the ‘varietals', Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo and the ‘big guns’ Barbaresco and Barolo. Within these we will have a sneak peak of the new 2013 Barolo vintage, which is being hailed as a super-exiting and important one, on par with the now-legendary 2010. Wines on tasting for the night will be confirmed over the next few days as David rummages through our cellar of treasures but you can certainly expect to see  well-known names such as; Fratelli Revello, AA Bera, Brezza, Barale, Paolo Conterno and Castello di Neive. Great food, super wines and a good night had by all.

On tasting;

'Pate di Tonno' [Tuna Pate]
Sliced polenta with Gorgonzola DOP
French bread with Sautéed Pine Mushrooms
Spiedino di castagne e pancetta [Pancetta wrapped chestnuts]
'Risotto al Barolo' with Italian Sausage, Pine Mushrooms & Truffle
