2013 LA MORANDINA BARBERA D"ASTILa Morandina
Producer: La Morandina
Grape: Barbera 100%
Zone: Barbera d’Asti DOCG
An extraordinary family and estate, centuries in development, with Barbera vines well over 100 years of age and some of the oldest, best and most distinctive Moscato vineyards in Piedmont. A visit with Guilio Morando is one of the most charming in Italy.
The Barbera d’Asti zone, offers more elegant red fruits and an even more ‘nervy’ style than the Barbera d’Alba. A great look at a lesser known, but delicious and vivacious face of the variety. Very good and readily adaptable food wine, with fruitiness, acid and vital savoury characters in fine balance.
Growing System: Guyot
Production: Fermentation on skins for 7 days. After racking off, the wine is left to mature in big wooden barrels and then stainless steel vats for one year before bottling
Alcohol (%) 13.5%
