Producer Info:

Stepping into Lenotti’s small tasting room in Bardolino, on the Western shores of Lake Garda, it doesn’t take long to begin to appreciate the hospitality that this family has coursing through their veins. They are also fiercely proud of their district and the wines it produces, mainly the corvina-based reds of Bardolino and Valpolicella. But, never one to rest on the attributes of this little sandy, loamy pocket of Italy, Giancarlo Lenotti saw plenty of potential in the other Northern Italian varieties and even some international grapes with a propensity for solid yields as well as awesome aromatics.

Tasting note:

The ‘Classico’ denotes better vineyards of the Soave region, west of Verona. These are on the slopes around the villages of Soave and Monteforte, where many of the grapes still come from the old ‘pergola’ trained vines. It’s a dry white of glowing fresh fruits of melon, white flowers and light herb notes. The palate has Soave’s full creamy texture, and crisp, chalky finish. Soave is a great all-round food wine.
