They specialize in their home commune of La Morra, for the production of various Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo wines, including parts of La Morra‘s most famous crus, Gattera‘, Giachini‘ and the great Rocche dell‘Annunziata‘. These are really bright, fruity and complex wines.

Tasting note: “The 2012 Barolo Gattera is deep, powerful and generous, as wines from this La Morra site usually are. Dark cherry, plum, spice and new leather meld together in a round, expressive Barolo that will drink well with minimal cellaring. There is a lot to like here. My sense is that the 2012 will drink well better sooner rather than later.” – Antonio Galloni
